Wornwell support

Scanning

• Scans the photos you allow, newest first, and skips screenshots and videos
• Pauses in Low Power Mode (iPhone) or Battery Saver (Android) and when the phone is warm; in the background it continues only while charging
• On iPhone, photos stored only in iCloud are skipped, so nothing is downloaded
• Add photos yourself with + › Choose photos (up to 20 at a time) or Take a photo

Review and wardrobe

• Swipe to confirm or discard; select several to merge them into one garment
• Edit type, colour and pattern; split out photos that show a different garment
• Filter by type, colour, season and last seen; four sort orders

Apple Intelligence (optional, iPhone)

• Short descriptions and style tags for each garment
• “Wear it with” outfit ideas chosen only from your own clothes
• Plain-language search. Without Apple Intelligence, search uses keywords

On Android

• People and garments are found, cut out and matched by open-source models bundled in the app and run on the phone. No Google ML Kit, no Gemini Nano, no cloud
• No AI descriptions or outfit suggestions. Ask uses keyword search (colours, types, seasons, dates), and outfits are the garments worn together in the same photo
• Photo access is your choice: all photos, selected photos only (Android 14 and later), or none at all using the photo picker or the camera

No garments were found

• Wornwell looks for people wearing clothes, or a garment laid out against a plain background. Landscapes, food and documents are skipped
• With Limited access, only the photos you selected are scanned. On iPhone: Settings › Choose which photos Wornwell can see. On Android: Settings › Apps › Wornwell › Permissions › Photos and videos (the path varies by phone)
• On iPhone, photos kept only in iCloud aren't downloaded, so they are skipped

Scanning has paused

• Scanning pauses in Low Power Mode (iPhone) or Battery Saver (Android) and when the phone is warm, and resumes on its own
• In the background it continues only while the phone is charging

Descriptions and outfit ideas don't appear

• On iPhone they need Apple Intelligence. Turn it on in Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri
• On iPhones without Apple Intelligence these sections are hidden and search uses keywords
• On Android there are no AI descriptions or suggestions. Outfits show the garments worn together in the same photo, and search uses keywords

Does anything get uploaded?

No. Photos are analysed on your phone: on iPhone with Apple's Vision framework and Apple Intelligence, on Android with open-source models bundled in the app. The app has no server and no account.

Is there an Android version?

Yes. Wornwell for Android scans, cuts out and matches garments on the phone with bundled open-source models, and nothing is uploaded. It has no AI descriptions or outfit suggestions: search uses keywords and outfits come from clothes worn together in the same photo.

What does the unlock cost?

Wornwell is free for up to 100 garments. A one-off $9.99 in-app purchase, through the App Store or Google Play, unlocks unlimited garments. There is no subscription. Restore a purchase from the unlock screen in Settings.

Is my wardrobe backed up?

Your wardrobe is included in your phone's own backup (iCloud or computer backup on iPhone, Android device backup on Android), like other app data, so it moves to a new phone with your backup. Use Settings › Export wardrobe for a copy you control.

How do I delete everything?

Settings › Delete everything removes every garment, cut-out and scan record. Your photos are never touched.
